Social Media Video Editor

• *Job Summary:** We are looking for a creative and skilled Social Media Video Editor to transform raw video footage into engaging short-form and long-form content for multiple platforms. The ideal candidate has a strong eye for pacing, storytelling, and visual flow, and knows how to craft videos that hold viewer attention and drive views. This role is perfect for someone who is both technically proficient and creatively driven.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit raw video footage into polished short-form content (1–2 minutes) for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts
• Produce longer-form edited videos for YouTube
• Apply an engaging editing style that retains viewer attention and maximizes watch time
• Collaborate closely with the content creator to align on creative direction, pacing, and overall style
• Cut, trim, and structure raw footage into compelling narratives
• Add transitions, text overlays, captions, music, and sound effects where appropriate
• Deliver edited videos in the correct format and specifications for each platform
• Stay updated on current short-form video trends and apply them to keep content fresh
• Suggest creative ideas and improvements to enhance content performance

Mandatory Skills

• Proven experience editing short-form video content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts
• Proficiency in modern video editing software (CapCut, Premiere Pro, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve, or similar)
• Strong sense of pacing, timing, rhythm, and visual storytelling
• Ability to create engaging edits that hold viewer attention
• Knowledge of platform-specific formats and best practices for short-form video
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred Skills

• Experience editing long-form YouTube content
• Awareness of current short-form video trends and viral formats
• Skill in adding captions, motion graphics, and text animations
• Ability to suggest creative direction and bring fresh ideas

Work Schedule

Pacific Time aligned. Flexible week to week, approximately 20 hours/week, days flexible based on when raw footage is delivered. Minimum 20 hrs/week confirmed with client.
